| The why to my scholarship List |
| I started researching and keeping a list of scholarships as a resource for the young men and students I support through JustINSPIRE Mentoring. I know college is not the goal or in the cards for everyone, I often think this mindset is provoked by the rising cost of education, and often the struggles alot of people face upon graduating college. I am not sure as you read this how familiar you are with life story, I can attest to the struggles to secure meaningful employment, despite graduating from college with experience and stellar marks. Sadly I have experienced not only as a undergrad but as a dual graduate degree holder as well. Despite the lack of respect, worth, value, society from a employment stand point may make me feel. When I think about my life purpose to serve you as a mentor and help you guide through your life and support in your decisons. I needed to experience these low points. How can a minister really talk to the weak, down trodden, the sick, if he has not had to escape being afflicted himself. That is the value I bring, that I challenge many may not be able to relate. I am not at all saying I am the only one who has struggled, I am saying the miles I show and battles I have survived in life at times, it has seemed like an endless battle with no hope to win, just last and hold the line, as long as I can. I realize that’s the gift God gives you in heart. Many men when they are down, they quit and ready to fold. Me I am always up to face it, long as my heart pumps blood through, no matter how charged the scroll with punishment, how bleak the stakes, I will show up, and take my odds. I will always bet on me. This was suppose to be a short into to lead you into some cool scholarships, instead I gave you a rant. That was on my heart. Knowledge is power, do what ever you can to pursue it. |
