Thereās a cruel irony I canāt shake: we always seem to find the money for cages, but never for care.
Take Floridaās latest move ā a $450 million migrant detention facility in the Everglades, grotesquely nicknamed āAlligator Alcatraz.ā A tent city built in a swamp, surrounded by gators and pythons, designed not just to detain but to terrify. And yet, this is the kind of infrastructure that gets greenlit, funded, and launched without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Iāve been fighting tooth and nail just to get $10,000 to expand a mentoring program that uplifts boys and men, strengthens schools, and gives real hope to families. A program that prevents the very despair and dysfunction these detention centers profit from.
We live in a world that can always afford a war. Always has money for a new jail, a new military contract, a new surveillance tool. But when it comes to healing, building, or supporting the ones on the ground doing the work ā crickets.
š The Truth Hurts: We Donāt Support What We Say We Love
And itās not just about government. Letās be honest: as a culture, we have developed a dangerous addiction to distraction and destruction. We throw money at celebrities who mock us. We praise viral content that humiliates us. We spend hours boosting posts that reinforce every negative stereotype about who we are.
But ask that same crowd to support mentoring? To invest in youth programs, mental health, or local leadership?
Silence.
We say we care about the community. But whereās the energy when someoneās actually trying to do something?

šŖ My Mission is Set in Stone
Despite it all, I keep going. Iāve committed to this work like Thanos committed to collecting Infinity Stones ā not because I want power, but because I know whatās at stake.
Each stone in my gauntlet is a pillar:
- Mentorship
- Emotional wellness
- Brotherhood
- Conflict resolution
- Chess and critical thinking
- Art and storytelling
Each one brings me closer to the master plan: a self-sustaining organization that reaches boys and men of all ages, in cities across the country, building strength through culture, community, and creativity.
š¶ Mobile Mentoring with a Mic and a Mission
One day soon, youāll see me like āWhereās Waldo?ā ā popping up in cities with my mobile DJ unit, setting up mentoring events in parks, on corners, and at schools. Music in the air. Chess on the table. Kind words on the mic.
Because I know this: bonding doesnāt start with lectures ā it starts with connection.
š What I Need ā And Why I Wonāt Wait to Be Chosen
Whatās sad isnāt just the lack of funding. Itās the lack of vision from those who say they want to help. There are men and women ready to serve. We exist. But too often, weāre overlooked ā not flashy enough, not āsafeā enough for donors, too real for the red tape.
Iām done waiting for approval. Done begging for a seat at the table.
JustINSPIRE will become that table.
But imagine how much faster we could move if we had support. Imagine if we funded our interests the same way we fund our entertainment. Imagine if our dollars reflected our values.
ā ļø Final Word
If youāre tired of seeing our boys thrown awayā¦
If youāre tired of only hearing sirens and never hearing solutionsā¦
Then invest in something real.
The world doesnāt need another prison.
It needs more purpose.
