Today I was scrolling on Twitter, just taking in the usual chaos, when something caught my ear—and spirit. A tweet from @blaccmassxx simply said:
“Pusha T On My Production (Twitter Sample)”
It was fire. Raw, gritty, hypnotic. I traced the sample back and realized it came from a video of an Indian Black Cobra catcher in action. Yes—that was the sample.
And it hit me all over again: Hip Hop, in its truest form, is powerful. Transformational. Alive.
When I hear something like this, it’s a reminder that Hip Hop was never just about what’s trending. It was always about finding sound in struggle, turning chaos into rhythm, and flipping reality into art.
Sometimes I wonder if Hip Hop’s really dead.
But nah. Hip Hop ain’t dead—
The mainstream just feels like a graveyard.
Too many fans out here are like bloodsuckers and deadbeaters—chasing drama, clout, or aesthetic with no roots in the craft.
Meanwhile, the real music? It’s in the shadows. It’s on your timeline. It’s in the sample you overlooked.
Turn away from the garbage being shoveled by the machine.
You’ll find quality nutrients all around.
👁🗨 Just stay sharp. Stay open. Stay inspired.
